Learning games for toddlers and preschoolers

Toddler's Galaxy is a learning app for children aged 2 to 6 that runs in your web browser. Your child picks a world, such as letters, numbers, dinosaurs or space, and plays short games inside it. Twinkle, a friendly star, reads the instructions and the praise aloud, so children who can't read yet can still follow along.

What's inside

There are 29 worlds. Each one is a set of picture cards on one topic, with games built from those cards:

• Letters and words: Alphabet Castle (A to Z) and the Phonics Speller.
• Numbers: Number Island, with the numbers 1 to 20, plus counting games in many worlds.
• Colours and shapes: Rainbow Kingdom and Shape Mountain.
• Animals and nature: Safari Adventure, Birds, Flower Garden, Underwater Kingdom, Dinosaurs, Fruit Forest, Veggies, Weather and Seasons.
• Space and the world: Galaxy Explorer, Top 50 Countries and All World Countries, with flags and capitals.
• Everyday life: Feelings, Good Habits, My Daily Routine, Little Heroes, Friendly Hospital, Opposites, Days of Week and Months of Year.
• Stories and music: picture storybooks, nursery rhymes, and a Music world with instruments to tap.

Most worlds have the same set of games, so a child who learns how to play Memory in one world can play it in all of them: tap-and-learn cards, a quiz, Memory, Balloon Pop, Match & Drop, Catch and the Phonics Speller. Letters, numbers and shapes add Tracing, and the counting worlds add a Counting game.

Games World holds 22 mini-games that stand on their own. Each is a different kind of puzzle, such as copying a pattern of lights, putting things in order from small to big, or finding the odd one out. Most have three levels:

Set to your child's age

When you set your child's age in the Parent Corner, younger children get fewer choices, slower games and more time before a hint. Along the way they collect stars, stickers and badges.

For the grown-ups

A grown-ups gate keeps settings, sign-in and purchases away from small fingers. Behind it you can set a daily screen-time limit; when it's reached, a calm "time for a break" screen appears. You can add a profile for each child and see which worlds they've explored.

There are no ads, and no advertising or analytics trackers. Your child's name, progress and play time stay on your device.
